B - MENTAL IMAGES

The exercise mainly aims to cultivate a fertile and detail-oriented imagination: fundamental for creating a story.

Key words - Exploring starting with the body.

Purpose - Developing the capacity to create detailed mental images. Getting used to making detailed descriptions.

Description - The trainer invites participants to think about a familiar place (it doesn’t matter if they are open or closed settings, it could be for example their home or their parent’s home or a park or a place they have been). The task is to take a mental photograph of that place. The trainer asks the participants to imagine entering the place and carrying out a limited number of actions. The beginning of the exercise is exclusively intellectual. Then the trainer will ask participants to act, reproducing the actions they imagined in their heads in that particular place.

Duration - Approximately 20 to 25 minutes.
