A - TELLING YOUR STORY

An exercise that is seemingly very simple and ordinary. It involves telling a story, perhaps an amusing anecdote that has occurred, or a traditional story.

Key words - Playwriting.

Purpose - Playwriting.

Didactic materials - A flipchart.

Description - The trainer asks each participant to tell a story about their life. If possible, the event should be amusing and pleasant. Otherwise, telling a traditional story is an option. While participants tell their story, the others take notes. When everyone has recounted something, the group decides together which of the stories will be selected as the basis of a play and produced on stage. Once the choice has been made, the notes taken by the listeners are read out loud as an initial description of the story.

Duration - From 30 to 40 minutes.
