Starting from the sequence of sessions, the essential activities proposed are:

Activity 1

Immagine

2 sessions of 45 minutes

Methodology:

One of the students, will draw an imaginary object with their hands, so that the rest of the students can give it meaning. The object will be passed from one to the other, its use will vary the weight, size, temperature ...) for this you will have to resort to body expression, since the rest of the group will have to guess what the object is.

Materials:

None.

Activity 2

Roles

Duration:

2 sessions .

Methodology:

To start this activity, different social states will be used and we will number them, from 1 to 10. We can start with: king, president, lawyer, judge, doctor, prostitute, harasser, abuser, electrician ... Once this is done, the teacher will assign the numbers to the students who will each begin to imitate their character.

Activity 3

Now I'm…

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

To begin with, pairs will form. Variations can be made as students let themselves go. It consists of improvising a situation or a character, and following the partner. Students will have to simulate a situation, being the people who decide and will have to improvise because they do not know how their partner will react.

Materials:

None.

Activity 4

History of theatre

Workshop on the history of theatre. Use of theatre as therapy. A personal reflection on what we expect from carrying out theatrical activities

Materials:

Texts.

Activity 5

What would you do if you were...

Duration:

5 sessions.

Methodology:

This activity consists in putting oneself in the place of the other. For this, different situations and different characters are distributed on one sheet. It is performed in front of the class group in groups of 3 or 4 students. Each of them must represent the situation described and how they would act in the event that they were that character assigned to them.

Materials:

Pen and paper. You can wear costumes.

Activity 6

References of life

Duration:

3 sessions.

Methodology:

This activity is carried out in groups of 3. Two are discussing an issue and one of them has to mediate between the other two. For this reason, the two who discuss are separated from the mediator, who is the one who must “send” to each of them what the other says, but appropriately changing tone and words, to try to reach a consensus.

Materials:

Camera. (if allowed).

Activity 7

Look at the camera

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

This activity consists in the fact that the teacher will describe a landscape, a scene, a situation and the students will have to represent it, remaining motionless at the end of the activity.

Materials:

Camera (if allowed)

Activity 8

Control of emotions

Duration:

3 sessions.

Methodology:

n the first session we will define the emotions following the systematization of Ekman (2017). Each of the students identifies them by proposing examples. In the second session, they will improvise in pairs about the different emotions: joy, sadness, disgust, anger, surprise and fear. The characteristic gestures of each emotion will be elaborated with the help of the teacher, showing special attention to non-verbal language and tone of voice. After this, each student will stage it in front of the others. To carry out the activity, the teacher will give each student a note with something that happened (birth, death, you won the lottery, you did not pass an exam, you stained your clothes with bleach ...) students are divided into two groups: one will express emotions excessively, and the other group will express them assertively. Eventually, everyone will look for some event in their life where they have lost control and talk about that.

Materials:

Sheets with different situations. Texts.

Activity 9

Empathy, what is it?

Duration:

2 to 4 sessions

Methodology:

First, we will look for the definition of empathy. We will use the model developed by Davis (2015). Photographs and images of people of different ethnicities, religions, etc. will be presented, and students will have to say who they would like to have at home and who they would not, and the reasons. In the next session, 2 groups of 3 people and a moderator will be created. The rest will be done by the audience and the moderator will read a case and each of the groups will defend a position, the public can intervene, on request to speak, asking questions or making comments. Finally, biographies of characters who have influenced empathy in history (e.g. Mother Teresa of Calcutta ...) will be read.

Materials:

Texts

Activity 10

The neighbour

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

Each couple will work on different situations that the teacher gives them. One of the participants poses a dilemma and the other person must be empathetic with them. This dialogue will be followed by the rest of the group, who will comment on the situation.

Materials:

None.

Activity 11

Fake doors

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

We draw on the ground, with chalk, 20 rectangles, which will be doors (5 doors in 4 rows). in each row there is only one valid port, which gives access to the next row. The teacher will decide which doors are valid. The goal is to memorize the valid doors to move from one row to another and thus be able to leave the rectangle that we have drawn. If you fail you have to go to the end of the line and wait for your turn.

Materials:

Chalks.

Activity 12

Let's write a story

Duration:

Indeterminate.

Methodology:

For this activity you can use the number of sessions that you think are useful. The activity is that one of the students will have to put themself in front of the others and interpret what the others are saying, in order, composing the story. The starting point is established by the teacher, for example: John got up very late that morning... One will play John and the others will complete the story.

Materials:

If you like you can use pen and paper.

Activity 13

Now they are ...

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

In the first session we will work on self-esteem, starting from the analysis of its meaning. Students will form a circle and will have to verbalize in front of others the behaviours, gestures or words that once made them feel undervalued in their environment. In the second session the name of each participant will be written on a piece of paper; all sheets with names are put in a bag and each participant pulls out a piece of paper. Everyone will work individually and will have to physically and verbally represent the attitudes of the person written on the sheet. Others will have to guess it. Offensive gestures or attitudes will not be allowed. The session ends with suggestions from students to improve self-esteem.

Materials:

Paper, pen and a bag.

Activity 14

Stop conflicts

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

We will start by explaining and talking about the POSITIVE STRATEGIES of dealing with negative situations, we can follow the line of Fernández-Abascal and Palmero (1999). Each participant makes a list of the things in everyday life that bother them about their companions, politely and without naming names. Scenes are improvised, for example, while queuing up, where conflicts always arise. Some of the annoying or conflicting situations listed above are selected. 3 people participate one that generates tension (person A), another that responds to tension (person B) who is hidden, and person C, an echo of person B, who receives answers from B, and must verbalize them to A, correcting all interventions laden with anger or aggression of B. In this way, the rest of the group will witness two different reactions to face a clash/conflict.

Materials:

Earphones. In the absence of these, walkie talkies (if allowed) can be used.

Activity 15

I am the leader

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

One of the students must make movements and the others must imitate them. You stand in line and the leader, in last place, makes three movements towards the person in front of them. They will take it back to person in front of them and so on, until you get to the first in line, who will do it in front of everyone. The more the movements of the last in the row resemble those of the first part, the better the success of the exercise will be.

Materials:

None.

Activity 16

Families

Duration:

2 sessions.

Methodology:

The group is divided into two. Each group must invent a situation and characters within a family. Each of them is given time to develop a possible dialogue. The situations that can be represented must be related to emotions. In the second session they will show the short scenes they have created in front of others.

Materials:

None.
